Esoteric leadership is cool

Updated: Jan 28, 2019

A lot happened since we last sent out a signal, but there is one important message we want to bring across this time: if you are not growing yourself on more than your technical skills you are just not cool :)

The facts and questions around this message are: the speed of change, digitalisation, embedding the start-up spirit into corporate cultures, what is the future of work, what is the education for jobs that don't exist yet, the need for a more responsible way of doing business, the need for focused way of work, the need for being more mindful and the need for finding meaning. And that is demanding a far more complex understanding of yourself. If we want to change not everything can be explained and created in the same manner as it was built.

Times of linear economy, nature abundance, stable political and economical climate, building to last are over. If we want to reinvent the economy, we need to start by changing our inner nature. And this whole inner world is very undefinable, a soft skill, and a lot of the times esoteric as I am told. But if you don't have time for it, you think it is kind of nice to have, but not really a need, you are missing out on the coolest competency advantage for your future.

If we want to be able to adapt to the fast-changing environment and its complexity, we need to invest as much time and resources towards human potential and ways of organising as towards technological advancements. There are many ways to do so, and there is no one size fits all formula. But there are many experiences, practices and cases out there that can help you find yours. Start exploring them now.

On that note, I have a very honest confession to make - it is very hard to take that time, allow yourself to explore, let go of a ritual and form you are used to, be fluent and open. I personally need to remind myself to do so almost every day. It takes practice and awareness. Start today with something very simple -  taking a walk outside, sit for 5 minutes in silence and come back to what ever you were doing before... Do you notice any difference?

Rewild yourself.
